I've had images of Wight (somehow of manor houses, green fields and folk music festivals) in my head all my life, and of course they don't resemble the real thing. It's like reading the book, then seeing the movie. In this case, however, the island appears to have much more charm than I had guessed. Sigh. Yet another place to see before I die.
I can see why you hated returning home, though Harrogate, too, appears to have see-before-you-die charm.
I went to Picassa to view the photos in larger form. Very nice.
